One Dart to Win It All

This dart (double-8) was the last dart my team, Edge of Insanity, threw last season. It came in the 33rd game of a best-of-32 Division C championship match. Now you’re probably wondering “33rd game in a best-of-32 – how’s that possible?” Well, that’ll happen when you have a 16-16 tie after playing 32 games. It’s a tie, I should point out, that we were fortunate to salvage after jumping out to a 13-6 lead, only to fall behind 16-15 going into the 32nd game. Rules dictate that a 1001, single-in, double-out 4-pe-team tiebreaker be played in case of a tie after all games have been played. Again, we held an early lead and seemed ready to cruise to victory until our opponents caught up, taking it down to where any dart could win it. Finally, on our first chance to win it, Spencer sealed the deal with the double-8 on the very first dart.
